Greenfoot is a programming and develoment setting that makes it much easier to write games in Java language. The program includes as default a large number of sample scenes and documentation so those least expert among you can get to grips with it easily.

Greenfoot has two aims: to work as a Java programming language didactic learning tool, or simply to create an interesting game and place it on your website. Initially it was aimed at younger users, but now it is for anyone.

Greenfoot combines a visual development setting with a 2D grid (better for novices), a conventional editor for developing code in the traditional way, with its class viewer, editor, compiler, etc which is ideal for novice users.
